“Avengers: Infinity War” will bring together over a dozen of your favorite Marvel superheroes.
While it will be exciting to see Tony Stark interacting with the likes of Doctor Strange and Spider-Man again, it should also cause a bit of concern. Let’s be real. Everyone’s not making it out of this movie alive. There are just too many good guys in it.
So we decided to put together the ultimate guide of which Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and more may not make it out of the great “Infinity War” alive.
9. The Collector — 35%
The Collector was previously given the red gem stone to protect. If Thanos has already collected it from him, he may not be alive anymore. This would be a real shame though if we never get to see him on screen with his brother, The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum).
8. War Machine — 40%
Look, we’re thrilled to see Rhodey back in action after he took a tumble in “Captain America: Civil War.” Maybe he has some plot armor after his near-death experience, but it’s tough to see how all of the mortals without real powers have a shot against aliens.
Unless he plans to take over as the next full Iron Man, he’s out.
7. Tony Stark/Iron Man — 50%
If Hugh Jackman can play Wolverine for 17 years, then certainly Robert Downey Jr. has a few more years left in him for Tony Stark, right?
Everything’s going way too well for Stark at the moment. He’s engaged to Pepper Potts and is mentoring Peter Parker/Tom Holland as Spider-Man. Now’s the perfect time for tragedy to strike. Or, hey, maybe Stark just sacrifices himself to save his mentee.
6. Captain America — 51%
Chris Evans has had a good run in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Is he really going to live the rest of his days as a fugitive of the law? We could see Cap going out on top by taking one for the team. A true American hero.
5. Drax the Destroyer —55%
All of the Guardians can’t possibly survive, right? Marvel’s not getting rid of Rocket and Groot, because they’re great for merchandise. Chris Pratt is one of the biggest movie stars right now in “Guardians of the Galaxy” and the “Jurassic World” franchise. Gamora’s a shoo-in because there would be an uproar over getting rid of a strong female lead, along with Star-Lord’s love interest.
That leaves Drax by default. You may have forgotten, but Drax has some unfinished business with Thanos. The villain ordered Ronan to murder Drax’s family. If Drax has a chance you better bet that he’ll try and slay the Mad Titan, but it could come at the cost of his own life. It could be an emotional final note for the walking thesaurus.
4. Nebula — 60%
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” also revealed some more of Nebula’s issues with daddy dearest, Thanos. After bonding with her sister Gamora, maybe she’ll sacrifice herself for the Guardians or get some revenge after the father who broke her physically and mentally.
3. Loki — 65%
Despite an attempt to take over the Earth in “The Avengers,” Loki has proved himself to have a moral compass when he teamed up with his brother Thor in “Ragnarok.”
But if the trickster decides to flip sides and work with Thanos or try to double cross him when handing over the Tesseract, he could be in trouble. We could definitely see Loki completing his bittersweet story arc by sacrificing himself for the greater good.
2. Hawkeye — 75%
Sorry, but how is Hawkeye still around until this point? The guy has no superpowers whatsoever. He doesn’t even have a supersuit to protect him. Not ideal for fending off aliens who could crush you in one blow.
1. Vision — Basically toast.
We know Thanos is on a mission to acquire the six Infinity stones for his gauntlet. A pit stop along the way? The one currently taking up residence in Vision’s head. There’s no way that’s staying put the entire film, especially since we basically start to see it ripped out of the android in the trailer.
Without the stone, the android ceases to exist. We’re already sending our farewells.
